BIO-INJECTION

Bio-injection is produced using bio-based materials, made from renewable sources instead of oil-based ones.

45- 47% of the bio-based carbon comes from plants not fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum.

Bio-based carbon content is tested to ASTM D6866-20 Method B

Using bio-injection produces less waste than acetate as the material is injection moulded. The material required to make the frame can be measured accurately to reduce waste.

 BIO-ACETATE

Bio-acetate is produced using cellulosic materials, fossil feed stock (virgin plastic) and an eco-friendly plasticizer. Due to the more eco-friendly plasticizer, the raw acetate pellets can aerobically biodegrade under controlled compostable conditions.

Although an eco-friendly plasticizer is used, bio acetate has the same properties and can be used in the same way as standard acetate.

 EASTMAN ACETATE RENEW

Acetate Renew supports the responsible sourcing of recycled plastics.

* Contains nearly 28% certified recycled content which helps reduce plastic PET bottles ending up in landfills and reduces fossil fuel-based feedstock.

Acetate Renew contains 42% bio-based cellulosic content from responsible forest management.

Although these changes have been made to make this eco-friendly material, it still has the same quality performance as standard acetate

* Recycled content achieved through allocation of a third-party recycled plastic using a mass balance method.

 EASTMAN TENITE RENEW

This material contains a minimum of 36% bio-based cellulosic content from responsible forest management. Tenite renew also *contains a minimum 20% certified recycled content which helps reduce plastic PET bottles ending up in landfills and reduces fossil fuel-based feedstock.

Tenite Renew has the same quality performance as normal injection mould cellulosic polyester.

RECYCLED METAL

Recycled metal used in the production of Planet Pop frames is from recycled post consumer copper wires.


Red Eyewear is GRS certified, Intertek [137036]. Products certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) contain recycled material that has been verified at each stage of the supply chain, from the source to the final product.
